Umm.. maybe in the future. We'll be releasing 4 forum skins when we launch the new software/look. Two skins will be dark in nature, two will be lighter in nature.

In the future, more skins may be created/implemented.

Tomorrow is the big day. I'm actually kind of nervous. But I have a good plan in place that should safeguard the current front page and forum in case a major catastrophe happens.

The current forum and front page will be moved to another domain for archiving. The database for the forum will be backed up and I will use the backup to do the import from. That way I am not touching the actual live database for this forum.

I'm expecting things to go smoothly based on the testing we've done behind the scenes, but I am prepared for the unexpected.

The forum and new front page may open before Tuesday, but I wanted to give myself and the other Captains helping out in various ways enough time to get everything done right.

As I said previously, some things will happen after the fact, minor tweaks and things like that. We're concerned with the content, layout and functionality first.

The only add-on that is in the current forum that will be available from the start is the chatbox. The other things I added may or may not be back. We're aiming to keep things closer to the stock install instead of having a heavily modified board and having issues updating in the future.

Wasn't sure where to post this and didn't want to start a new thread.

I added an add-on to the chatbox that shows a message whenever someone replies to a post or creates a new thread.
It tells who made the post and provides a link to it.

Let me know what you think of it. If it's too annoying, I can remove it easy enough.

I like it, but it might get crazy during busy times. I like not having to go to "Who's online" to see when new posts are made.

Do not want. If it could be disabled on an individual basis, that would be fine. As it stands now, it clutters the chatbox, and you can get essentially the same info by going to the Unread Posts list. Good idea in theory, not so much in practice.

It doesn't need to be a clickable button IMO. We have the "New Posts" button and "What's New" button right on the menu.

No... when I move it down, it loses the ability to be clicked. It makes no sense.

If its there, people will try to click it as that is how the old forum behaved. Then there will be people posting here that they can't click the unread posts link like they used to.

This is true. It irritates me already that I have to click specifically on the Unread Posts part and the "You have XX" isn't clickable.

The whole line is now clickable from the You have XX to the end of that link. I was able to change the add-on code. I still can't get it to move down a line and retain the clickable feature. It's very odd but I'm not going to monkey with it any more.
