• February 2012 Brigadier Spotlight: fightclubjeff

Welcome back to In the Crosshairs: Brigadier Spotlight!

Each month, we'll take some time to interview one of our members. Not only does it give our other members an opportunity to learn something new about one of their friends, but it also lets people outside of our community find out more about who we are.

If you have any feedback on the feature or any more questions for fightclubjeff, please leave a comment at the bottom of this page. Enjoy!

Q: How did you end up in 8-Bit Brigade?
A: My cousin Whiskey Tango aka Viva La Sam was part of a Halo 2 Clan know as Let Us Win (we would later evolve into the 8-Bit Brigade). After introducing me to the members and playing several rounds with everyone they were kind enough to take me on as a member.

Q: What is your fondest 8-Bit Brigade-related memory?
A: I really enjoyed the run we had back in the Halo 2 days. There were a lot of late nights involved between matchmaking and custom, who could forget the floor is lava and let’s all snipe Czar and piss him off. The clan meets have also been great. It was cool to put a face to the voices on the other side of the speakers.

Q: What are your favorite games right now?
A: Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, NHL12, and Batman Arkham City are my current favorites. I really enjoy the progression system in COD, it always feels like I am working towards a goal wither it’s unlocking a new assault rifle or trying to get the pro version of a perk.

Q: What are your gaming pet peeves?
A: Cheaters are at the top of the list. I also dislike the loud mouthed gamers who want to call you every curse word they can think of. My rule of thumb is do not say anything to a fellow gamer unless you would say it to their face.

Q: What sort of gamer do you consider yourself to be?
A: I game for fun so I am pretty laid back but I do get frustrated if I am doing poorly during multiplayer. Like most other gamers I enjoy winning so I can be competitive as well.

Q: When’s the best time to get games in with you?
A: I play mostly in the evenings after the kids have gone to bed.

Q: What are some of your hobbies?
A: Spending time with my family, gaming, Ice Hockey (I plan to start playing again), & reading.

    Q: Where are you from?
A: Chi-town, home of the neon relish and greatest hotdogs ever made.

Q: What sort of family did you come from and how does that compare to the family you have now?
A: I come from a broken family. My mom left my dad before I was born then she remarried a real piece of s*it when I was about 10. That would up ending in divorce as well. Now I try and spend as much quality time with my boys and wife and I have the family I never did growing up.

Q: What is something about you that might surprise people?
A: If I told you that it would not be a surprise now would it?

Q: Any words of wisdom or life lessons to share with us?
A: Enjoy life, it’s too short to run around angry or pissed off.

I've gotta ask - do you put ketchup on your hot dogs?? A friend of mine from Chicago got offended when I put ketchup on mine. "You don't put ketchup on a hot dog, sicko!"

      News to me!

In Chicago, they just put a pile of shit on something and call it a hot dog. It's un-American and disgusting.

I like ketchup, mustard & dill relish. I had no idea the ketchup part was a faux-pas, though.

I cut my hotdog up, put each slice on a ritz cracker, and then squeeze a bit of ketchup on it. Take that purists.
