The 8-Bit Brigade 2007 Child’s Play Fundraiser

2007 Tally So Far: $485.00. Our goal for this year is $1,000.

While we did not reach our goal before the proposed deadline for the contest, we are continuing to take donations throughout the end of the year.

As for the contest, we will be conducting the drawing at 3pm EST at the following website http://www.stickam.com/profile/unclegramps.

This year, we here at 8-Bit Brigade have decided hold another fundraiser for Child’s Play. This is a great charity to support as it provides children’s hospitals with video games and other toys. It’s a great way to help children in need while also showing our love of gaming and providing a more positive image of gamers to the media and the public at large.

Are you ready to donate? Here is how we’re doing it this year.

We will be collecting donations via Paypal. We have created a Paypal account specifically for Child’s Play donations. When the fundraiser is over, we will take all of those donations from our account and transfer them to the Child’s Play Paypal account. Keep checking this page, as we will be updating our donation tally frequently!

In the spirit of giving, several clan members have decided to donate some cool items for a raffle since you cannot donate actual games to Child’s Play. It’s a fun way to get some more donations and spread the holiday cheer!

Prize List:

Now, on to the contest rules!

  • The contest will run from December 7th until December 21st. There is a Donation button above that you can use to make your donation.
  • For every $5 donated, you automatically receive one entry for our drawing. For $20 you get 5 entries.
  • When you make your donation through Paypal, we will take note of your donation amount and assign you a number of tickets based on that amount. For example, if our very first donor gives $15, he or she gets tickets numbered 1, 2, and 3. If the second donor gives $10, he or she gets tickets numbered 4 and 5.
  • After the fundraiser ends at 11:59:59 PM EST on 12/21/07, no more contest tickets will be given out, but of course you can still donate! On or about 12/22, we will use the random integer generator at random.org to pick winning ticket numbers. We will randomly pick as many numbers as there are contest prizes, and we will assign each winner a prize. Prizes will be given out in the order that they are listed above. In other words, the first winner we draw will receive the first prize on the list. The second winner will receive the second prize on the list, and so on. The drawing will be broadcast live via Ustream.tv or another similar free service so that donors can watch and join in the fun!
  • To make the contest more enjoyable for everyone, each person can only win one prize. If, during the drawing, a winner has another of their tickets drawn, we will generate another random number and draw a new ticket.
  • Each winner will be contacted via the email address listed in the Paypal account used to make their donation, so please make sure this email address is correct before you make your donation! We will notify you of your prize and ask you to confirm your shipping address. If we receive no response to our email within 7 days, we will draw another winning ticket number and contact the new winner.
  • Prizes will be shipped within 7 days of the winner’s response. We are not responsible for items that are damaged or lost during shipping, but we will do everything in our power to prevent this from happening!
  • Winners will have their names posted on this page shortly after the raffle is over. If you would prefer to remain anonymous, please let us know by leaving a note in the Comments section when you make your donation through Paypal.
  • Thank you for your donations, and good luck!
