When I heard Civilization was coming to the console I was simultaneously excited and repelled. I have logged hundreds of hours playing Civilization II on the PC. As a matter of fact, I'm pretty sure it is responsible for my not getting the best grades during one semester of college. Civilization: Revolution continues that addiction. Yes, [...]

Very nice review, xmiyux, thanks. Interesting to have the viewpoint of someone that is more familiar with the Civilization series. I love the game, but have never played any of the others, so it is all new to me.
I've never played online, but really can't imagine trying...just doesn't seem like it would lend itself to a good online game...could easily be drawn out to several hours.

I had a ton of fun playing the demo and am waiting for Gamefly to send it to me, but it has Low Availability.
I would have bought it as part of last weeks Toys R Us sale, but my local store didn't have it, so I bought Soul Calibur IV instead.

I didn't even mention the challenge of the week thing, which has potential to be kind of neat if you are into leaderboards and such.
I think multiplayer in the game would be horrible because it would take an eternity. Anything longer than Catan is a no-go online in my book.

I picked it up yesterday ith Too Human from Toys R Us using their buy one get one 50% off and the 20% off coupon. Both games with tax was $75ish.
We have a garage sale going this weekend, so I took a little bit for myself to get a game with the sale at TRU.

This was a borderline buy for me with the current and a would have bought it if the store had it during the previous Toys R Us sales.
Now since it has been out for awhile and a deluge of releases is upon us, I will have to wait until GameFly sends it to me to see if it is a keeper.
Also may pick it up before then it is on sale or price drop for $30 or less.

I haven't played it in a while but it really is a great game to play when you want a kind of chill time. I would sometimes play it while we watched a movie on the other TV since i really didn't need sound for Civ.
edit: I am amused by having a Democracy for the science boosts and then someone pisses me off. Democracy won't let you declare war so i always switch to Socialism and start up a nuclear arsenal.
