It’s not the first time this rumor has gone ’round. The DS has been around since 2004, so it wouldn’t be all that surprising. Don’t get too excited, it is nothing but rumors and speculation.

The rumors i had seen mentioned larger screens and a removal of the GBA port.

Personally i can't imagine them doing that with Guitar Hero on the DS selling relatively well and sequels planned. They need that GBA port for the guitar controller part.

I would totally buy a new DS though with a larger screen and a slimmer/lighter profile.

I don't think Guitar Hero would be reason enough for them to halt production of a new DS. Maybe if it was a Nintendo product, but there's no way they're going to scrap years of design and engineering for somebody else's game. I mean, how many people are going to be unwilling to buy a new DS because it can't play Guitar Hero?

I guess the thought process behind those wondering about the GBA slot being removed is that until the Guitar Hero game it hadn't been really implemented in any DS game. Now that it has and has done relatively well, others and myself, wonder if Nintendo will do some kooky things on their own. I mean the Wii has shown that Nintendo is not averse to loading up the market with new plastic peripherals. :lol: Perhaps they could start getting some things on the DS as well.

:lol: It is photoshopped.

There are no pictures of what it should look like. I saw an artist rendition of what they were expecting based on various rumors and it looked just like the current DS just with a wider higher resolution screen. :shrug:

I just did a google image search for DS or something and that was the most amusing picture that I saw.
