I like that it states that if you hear a song you like in the game, find a phone in the game, call a number. Then log into your rockstar page and a link to buy it from amazon mp3 will be there.

I registered as well. But from the looks of it, this seems to be a site that lets you track the music you like in the game and then buy it. Is there anything more going on there, or is that it?

When the Rockstar Games Social Club officially opens on April 29th with the release of Grand Theft Auto IV, you will be able to link your Xbox Live Gamertag or your PLAYSTATION®Network Sign-In ID.

I was initially preordering it from Amazon, but to hell with that...I'm preordering from Gamestop so I can pick it up @ midnight.

I will have to see if my gamestop is doing a midnight release, if not, I will see if Walmart is. I don't need it on midnight, but since I work till 11pm in town it wouldn't hurt to just pick it up before going home

I don't think its a coorporate thing. The gamestop I reserved my copy at is not going to have a midnight release. The reason I really even reserved it at Gamestop is because the stores around me don't get it in until Wednesday the 30th, and for whatever reason the Gamestop actually releases the game on release day but only for those that reserved it. Living in the city sucks sometimes.

I think it's hilarious how they have that preregistration but once you sign up there is absolutely nothing for you to do there.

I'm thinking about just taking Tuesday off of work for it and going at midnight. For all the issues I have with Gamestop, I have to admit that they are the only place I trust to do releases the right way.

I ordered mine from Amazon so I may be a little late getting the game but having it on day one is not a deal breaker for me. Saving on tax and shipping is more important to me.

Gamestop is really good with online preorders as well. So far they are 3 for 3 for getting games to me on release day.

I decided to go this route too. I saved over $4 on taxes alone. Plus I get a gamerpics code.
