Why do people think it's stupid? It's a frieking awesome monitor. It's a niche product, for sure; and I won't be buying it, but it's still cool.

Sure, it's probably expensive as hell, but that doesn't make it a bad product, does it?

Can you imagine some of the racing sims on the monitor? Your field of vision would be incredible.

They said that was a prototype. It won't actually be released until June, I think. It's a DLP rear projection monitor, though, and the equivalent of two 27" side by side. I'm guessing $1500-2000 if they try to keep the price reasonable. $3000 if they try to milk people for the drool factor.

I read through the article and some of the reader comments on the site. Somewhere it said that the price was not yet determined, but would be more than a standard LCD and less than a Kia. Ouch.

While it is nice, they said that they used four monitors to achieve the curved look. Some guy said he saw the seams.

Of course, it's also a prototype. The final product probably won't be so Frankensteinesque.

I think it is stupid for the simple reason that I will never want/have the need for one. It won't make what I already do on my computer any more awesome.

For the 3 people in the world that have the money and desire for both the monitor and the computer that will take advantage of it, sweet. For me, just a dumb piece of tech.
