Clans that drink together stay together!

What is the 8-Bit Brigade?

What is the 8-Bit Brigade and where did it come from?

History:
8-Bit Brigade began as a Halo 2 clan at DVDTalk.com. After a few months of playing, however, a smaller group of that 100 member clan realized that we had a solid core of people playing regularly who shared similar personalities and backgrounds. A smaller clan was spun off of the DVDTalk Clan, initally called “Let Us Win” and later renamed to “8-Bit Brigade.” As of today, we have a solid group of approximatley 30 people, the majority of which have been playing together daily since Halo 2 launched. We play many other games on Xbox Live as well. We also have clan meets approximatley 4 times per year where we hang out, play cards and board games, and play other games not on Xbox Live.

Who We Are:
Generally, we are all in our mid 20s to mid 30s. Most of us have college degrees and “real” jobs. Several of us collect DVDs. Several people are interested in fantasy sports leagues and other things like anime and whatever else your typical Halo nerd enjoys. We also have lively discussions on cooking, books, music, politics, and everything else.

Our Policies:
We basically disagree with: super bouncing, trash talking, spawn killing, and people generally acting like assholes. Of course, if your group is acting like jerks, we will typically respond in kind. Remember the golden rule! We also do not allow racism, homophobia, or any other hate speech.

What We Play:
We prefer matchmaking to customs, but frequently end up with big parties. You can expect at least 10 people on Halo on any given night and as many as 25 on a weekend these days.

Want to join?
We are always open to new members, but we police our policies pretty strictly. If you like trash talking, singing in your microphone, dropping during matchmaking games, being rude to your teammates, or throwing temper tantrums when you lose, then you are not going to be welcome. If you’re an adult with a real job who plays for a couple hours a night to relax and have fun and like to play some Halo or whatever the hot game of the moment is, then you can feel free to send a friend request to “Canis Firebrand”, “CzarCastic”, “Duster72”, “xmiyux”, or “Slitt Vicious” and register in the forums. There you can get to know the guys a little bit.
We are a friend community, not strictly a Halo clan, so participation in our forums is vital and expected. If you can’t bother to check in on a message board once a day, you probably will have a hard time fitting in. Please note that many parts of the message board are locked for non-members for security purposes. Do your best with what’s available and we will make you a “friend of 8BB” which will open up many more discussion areas.

Beyond that, we will get you into some games and we can go from there. If the party is full, sorry. We usually just play with 8, although we occasionally play customs. We try to let people know when parties are full and send invites as spots open up on a first come first serve basis.

That should be what you need to know about 8-Bit Brigade – at least as a starting point. Now come on into the forum and introduce yourself!
